Nice beat, how did you make it?

DeafbyHipHop responds:

Thanks man i sampled Larry Carlton - Where did you come from. I recorded the sample from vinyl into the sp 303 and messed with it till i resampled it into the mpc 1000 and made the beat there and recorded it to cassette

You should have cranked up the volume since the audio is nearly not hearable :(.

EDIT after the audio is actually hearable:
There's a background noise you can remove with a gate on the instrument which produce that. The hats pattern feels a little bit robotic. Same for the organ but the melody is pretty cool.
Keep it up,

Keyle0015 responds:

Thanks for telling me! I cranked up the volume so it should be easier to hear, I tend to lower the volume in stuff to not hurt eardrums but this song isn't that loud so I guess it was unnecessary this time

EDIT¨
Thank you, sadly the noise is a result of the recording trough an aux cable, and thanks for the feedback on the patterns, will try to work on that

The drums are pretty cheap and the hi-hats are really loud. They also could be sidechain. The melody is really cool. It lacks of some elements like high-pitched instruments of basses.

EDIT from 8 April after the modification: I still think that the drums are a bit cheap and the hats are loud. But now the frequency spectrum is filled better. Otherwise the master clips sometimes, be careful with that.

Had a feeling about the song was lacking something but it's has bass but I need to make it more noticeable, I'll keep you comment in mind though

The guitar is pretty nice but the recording could be neater, I recommend you to invest in a btter mic, would be worth it imo. Nice progression and melody btw.

PenguinMusic responds:

I record the guitar through a combo amplifier, since this is an electric guitar, and since I do not have the opportunity to record in the studio, I record at home, where there are a lot of pickups that interfere with the recording.
Thank you for your feedback.

The guitar in the beginning is cool. The chords are pretty generic. The lead is nice as the melody. The whole track is pretty generic btw but I'm rude to say that since the track is pretty well mixed. Just sad the snare is not more hearable. The melodies are damn cool and the song has a solid structure.

AethenMusic responds:

Thanks for the comment! Making it sound generic was actually my intentions. I wanted to make a classic NCS track.

The piano is pretty dry and cheap, I would have used a synth with quiet chords stack under it and also a bass to make it pumpier. A predrop would bring the drop in a better way that silence imo. The drop lacks of bass. The drums samples are a bit cheap, I recommend you to get some ones on the Internet. It lacks of sidechain. The melody is cool tho.
This genre sounds like Melodic Slowed Drum 'N Bass.
Wish you the best,

rherdalaezian responds:

thanks for the feedback. incase you didn't know, the drum pattern isn't sampled, I made it myself :(
and I purposely didn't put any bass in the drop because I wanted it to be a bit empty, I didn't want it to be like driving/pumping tbh.
but thanks anyway! I'm glad someone didn't like it.

These progression and melody are definitely awesome. It doesn't make me think about the sunset but to an epic middle-age battle personally. Still really good.
Keep it up,
